Monthly Archives: April 2015

Unni sketched this artwork last week while she was sitting at the table finishing breakfast.  When asked to tell us about her art, she said the top one was a snake and the bottom one was a penguin.  Fairly impressive rendition of those animals, in this mom’s (maybe not so) humble opinion.

Riding buddies

This red wagon gifted from Dad’s professor has made for many fun times for the girls and their friends.  Even sitting in it inside the house is fun, apparently! Or, maybe it’s the snacks that make the sitting fun.

Another art class project

Unni decided this might be her last class for now.  Last week she created a tissue paper butterfly with a splattered paint technique.  The kids also colored and put together the frame for the butterfly.

Food truck rodeo

Our town hosted a food truck chowdown last Sunday, and we met up with some friends to sample the food.  We ate some yummy grub and were amazed at the longgggg lines at each truck.

History museum

Ever think you took too many photos?  Well, I did the day we went to the Museum of History.  But, as I’m trying to write this post, I’m wishing I had taken more.  Anyway, we hadn’t been to the museum for a long time and it was a great change from our usual haunts. The girls first completed a paper lighthouse craft and learned about one of the lighthouses that had to be moved inland because of erosion. Unni could have explored more exhibits but Koma wasn’t crazy about the darkened rooms.  So, we walked through most of the downstairs and just a few exhibits upstairs.  Plenty for little girls, really.  If Dad came with us, he would have loved the war memorabilia.

Tennis lessons

Unni started taking tennis lessons a couple weeks ago.  She said they’ve been a lot of fun.  It’s good for her to take instruction from other adults, and she seems to have some natural athletic coordination so we’ve been pleased with her progress in the class.

Special company

We looked forward to our special privileges from our special guests.  The girls had lots of fun playing with the sisters and having books read, etc.
